Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Safelink, including the Safelink website, browser extension, web application, sandbox sessions, self-service portal, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
The Service is provided by Luca Gesmundo ("Safelink", "we", "us", or
"our").
Contact: support@safelink.dev
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you can legally enter into a binding contract under applicable law.
The Service is not intended for children under 18.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. The Service
Safelink provides a disposable remote browser sandbox that allows users to open links in an isolated environment.
The Service may include:
- the Safelink website;
- beta access and account registration;
- the browser extension and "Open in Safelink" functionality;
- remote sandbox browsing sessions;
- self-service account management;
- support and related communications.
Safelink is currently offered in beta. Features may change, be added, be removed, or stop working at any time.
3. Beta Status
The Service is an early-stage beta product.
You understand and agree that:
- the Service may contain bugs, errors, or security limitations;
- features and performance may change without notice;
- sandbox sessions may fail, terminate unexpectedly, or behave inconsistently;
- the Service may be unavailable from time to time.
You use the beta Service at your own risk.
4. Accounts
To access some parts of the Service, you may need to create an account.
You agree to:
- provide accurate and complete information;
- keep your login credentials secure;
- promptly update your information if it changes;
- notify us if you become aware of unauthorized access to your account.
You are responsible for activity occurring under your account, except to the extent caused by our own failure to protect the Service.
5. License Keys and Access Control
Safelink may use a license-based access model.
A license key may be shown once and then discarded. We may retain only a hash of the license for validation and access control purposes. Access to a sandbox may depend on possession of the relevant valid license or account credentials.
You may not:
- share, resell, sublicense, transfer, or publicly expose license credentials except where we expressly permit it;
- attempt to bypass, defeat, or interfere with license validation or access controls;
- access sandboxes or sessions that are not assigned to you.
6. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service only in compliance with these Terms and applicable law.
You may use Safelink to inspect, open, and interact with suspicious or unknown links in an isolated environment, including for defensive security review, investigation, and general browsing.
You may not use the Service to:
- violate any law or regulation;
- infringe another person's rights;
- distribute spam, malware, ransomware, or other harmful code from or through the Service;
- conduct unauthorized attacks, intrusion attempts, denial-of-service activity, or infrastructure abuse;
- interfere with the integrity, availability, or security of the Service;
- attempt to escape, probe, reverse engineer, or break the isolation of the sandbox or underlying infrastructure, except to the extent such restriction is not allowed by applicable law;
- use automated means to overload, scrape, or abuse the Service;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- use the Service to host, relay, or operate unlawful content or unlawful activity.
Using the Service to visit suspicious or malicious third-party websites for analysis does not by itself violate these Terms. The restriction is on abusing Safelink itself or using it as part of unlawful activity.
7. User Content and Submitted URLs
You may submit URLs, inputs, and other material to the Service as part of using it.
You retain whatever rights you already have in content you submit, but you grant us a limited right to process that material solely as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service, and as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit such material and that your use of the Service does not violate applicable law.
8. Sandbox Sessions
Safelink is designed so that sandbox sessions are disposable and ephemeral.
When a session ends, the associated sandbox workspace is intended to be destroyed. However, you acknowledge that:
- no technical system is perfect;
- temporary caching, transient processing artifacts, or limited technical records may exist during operation;
- minimal telemetry and technical error data may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
Safelink does not promise that a sandboxed website is harmless, accurate, or trustworthy. You remain responsible for your own decisions, including whether to submit credentials, download files, or trust third-party content.
9. Third-Party Websites and Content
The Service enables access to third-party websites and resources that we do not own or control.
We are not responsible for:
- third-party websites, content, or files;
- the accuracy, legality, availability, or security of third-party resources;
- any loss or damage arising from your interaction with third-party sites or services.
Using Safelink does not mean that we endorse or verify any website opened through the Service.
10. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of your use of the Service.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, trademarks, text, graphics, interfaces, and related materials, is owned by or licensed to Safelink and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by law or by our written permission.
12. Feedback
If you provide feedback, ideas, suggestions, or test results about the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback for any lawful purpose, without compensation to you.
13. Availability, Changes, and Suspension
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time.
We may suspend or restrict your access immediately if we reasonably believe:
- you violated these Terms;
- your use creates security, legal, or operational risk;
- suspension is necessary to protect the Service, other users, or third parties.
Where reasonable, we may try to notify you, but we are not required to give prior notice in urgent cases.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
We may terminate or suspend your access at any time in accordance with these Terms.
Upon termination:
- your right to use the Service ends immediately;
- sandbox access may be revoked;
- we may delete or disable associated account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and legal obligations.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, governing law, and dispute resolution.
15. Paid Services
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the current beta Service is provided without charge.
If we introduce paid plans, subscriptions, or other paid features in the future, additional commercial terms, pricing, billing terms, cancellation rules, and any required consumer notices will apply at that time.
16. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and quiet enjoyment.
We do not warrant that:
- the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available;
- the Service will detect, prevent, or contain all malicious behavior;
- the sandbox will be compatible with every website, workflow, device, or browser;
- any content opened through the Service is safe, accurate, or lawful.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Safelink will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or opportunity, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Safelink's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed:
- the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
- EUR 1, if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, or personal injury or death caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited.
18. Indemnity
If you use the Service on behalf of a business or for commercial purposes, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Safelink from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising out of:
- your misuse of the Service;
- your violation of these Terms; or
- your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
This section does not apply to consumers to the extent prohibited by applicable law.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules.
If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory protections granted to you by the laws of your country of residence.
20. Dispute Resolution and Venue
If you have a dispute with us, please contact support@safelink.dev first and we will try to resolve it informally.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts of Italy will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in another competent court.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will publish the updated Terms on the website and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
